New survey structure will produce better data

The Most Wired Survey has been redesigned to increase the data’s reliability and improve the usefulness of the results for benchmarking. Major changes include:

CIO oversight: CHIME CIOs actively participated in survey development.

Advisory board: An advisory board comprised of five CHIME CIOs, two members of the Most Wired project team and representatives of sponsoring companies are advising staff on survey development and implementation.

Meaningful use: New survey questions and revisions to others based on the meaningful use definition recommended by HIT Policy Committee.

New structure: Hospitals will be stratified into five levels based on IT adoption, implementation and use in four focus areas: Infrastructure; Business and Administrative Management, Clinical Quality and Safety; and Care Continuum.

Increased transparency: Transparent scoring eliminates misunderstandings about the survey and holds CIOs more accountable for their responses.

Unlimited recognition: Recognition will be based on an organization’s achievements in the four focus areas and will no longer be limited to 100 organizations per year.
