Submit no more than one 10-page, double-spaced essay (2,500-2,800 words) per project in a word processing document; PDFs will be excluded. Do not identify your organization or constituent groups by name, location or geographic description in any way within the essay. Instead:

  • Describe your organization as "a three-hospital delivery network, serving a metropolitan area and surrounding region of about 250,000 people" for example.
  • Describe your constituent group as, for example, "the largest local employer, with 15,000 employees."

Screen shots, charts and other graphics are acceptable. Any reference to the organization, including any headings, logos or URLs, must be deleted. The Innovator Award team reserves the right to delete any graphic with information that identifies the organization.

The essay should address each of the following:
  • Project Description - executive summary
  • Business Objectives - technical and strategic
  • Technology - components and method of implementation
  • Constituent Group(s) Served - e.g. patients, physicians, other providers, employees
  • Costs and Benefits - strategic, financial and operational, including return on investment
  • Key Obstacles and Solutions
  • Transportability - to other organizations and/or other constituencies
